BEFORE YOU BEGIN Requirements & Instructions

The Arise Rev. Arturo Skinner Scholarship Application (ASSA) is aimed to assist students in their academic pursuits and to encourage moral excellence while maintaining spiritual integrity. The ASSA Committee will recognize students (at least 18 years of age or a senior in high school / vocational training program) who have an upstanding reputation among their peers and community, and who aspire to grow in their spiritual relationship.

Application window: September 19 – November 6, 2026 · Scholarship awarded: January / February 2027

Have these ready to upload in Section 6 (PDF, Word, or image files):

Letter of acceptance from the school or institution you plan to attend
Three letters of recommendation — from your pastor, an instructor, and one other person of your choice
A one-page essay on your career goals and aspirations as they relate to college or a higher-education program
Your most recent high school report card or transcript (cumulative GPA of 2.5 / B- or above required)
Optional: letters of commendation, certificates, or awards from social or civic organizations for volunteer or community service
